I was born in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, to Dutch parents, so I’m Dutch.

Then I spent my childhood in Germany, Suriname and the Netherlands, where I biked to and from my high school every day for 14 km each way, until I graduated in 1990.

After working half a decade as a tropical hydrologist in Kenya, India and Zimbabwe, a decade in the corporate worlds of Accenture, eBay and Google, followed by a decade as Founder & CEO of my technology company, I decided that the next decade, and more, is going to be about Art.

Starting from scratch once again.

Why?

Because I love to create. And I want to explore and develop different parts of me, finding new ways to express myself, giving voice to ideas that I find are important. So I decided to put this at the front and centre of what I do.

When it comes to art, I aim to create works of art you never get tired of looking at, using different mediums to express different ideas and provoke different emotions, driven by my curiosity and desire to keep developing myself.

I am an Agricultural Engineer from Wageningen University with a specialisation in Tropical Hydrology and I hold an MBA degree from New York University.

So far I have lived in 10 countries across 5 continents and now call Milan, Italy home, where I live together with my two kids. Well, actually my daughter recently moved back to London to study.
