La Metropolitana di Napoli L1, 2023

This month, I was finally able to stay a bit longer in Naples, one of my favourite cities in Italy, no, in the world, actually.

The reason for extending my stay was to explore and photograph Linea 1 of the metro system.

Linea 1 has just 19 stops, but the line is dedicated to art. There are more than 180 pieces of art on display, created by 90 local and international artists.

It is truly amazing.

The metro of Naples is another case in point supporting my theory that subways tell the stories of their cities. The lust for life and desire to make life colourful just jumps out at you when you travel on the Linea 1.
