Sometimes you gotta make a stand

Exhibit A

At some point in my life I wanted to become a furniture designer.

So I designed a chair and had it made with a friendly carpenter in Leicester (exhibit A).

The chair didn’t really pan out as a chair, but for the past years it has been serving as an excellent stand for my vinyls in the living room.

Now I’m faced with the fact that, slowly but steadily, the collection of my records has outgrown the holding capacity of my chair.

I looked around and, of what’s out there in terms of record stands, nothing really caught my fancy.

So I’m embarking on designing a, this time purpose-built, record stand.

I’d like it to be free-standing, show at least some of the album art which I love, hold around 150 records, be made of wood (to be decided of plywood or natural oak) and it needs to look really good. I may paint it, I may dress it with a collage.

I was wondering, if anyone else would be interested in a record stand like that?

Let me know!
